Protecting curly hair

It can be quite difficult to look after curly hair properly, due to the way it gets dry easily, becomes frizzy and gets split ends. However it is possible to look after your lustrous curls and make sure they shine!

It's probably best to avoid expensive shampoos and conditioners, there isn't usually much difference between those and normal shampoos. Due to the way that curly hair tends to have more surface area exposed, it can get dry and brittle, so you should use shampoos and conditioners intended to improve dry and brittle hair.

No matter what kind of hair you have frequent shampooing generally isn't a good idea, espeically when combined with hair dryers and flat irons. Try to work the shampoo into your scalp and only lather it up once. Twice is too many! Conversely you should focus the conditioner on the length of your hair, not the scalp, to avoid making your scalp greasy.

Sleeping with conditioner in overnight can also help to add bounce and volume.

To style curly hair, blot it dry after showering, don't brush it normally but use a wide comb gently. Only use a little of your styling products and gently squeeze your hair when you do.

Most importantly coming to us at Pazam Hair Studio for your styling needs will make sure you get the most out of your curls!

Pamela did my hair on the day of my wedding. As it was such an important day I took no chances, I knew I was in safe hands and trust her 100%. She has such an artistic flair when it comes to hair and has the ability to turn an idea into reality in no time. Without hesitation, I would recommend Pazam to anyone looking for a quality hairdresser!

I recommend Kaleigh! Got my hair done for a basketball event the first weekend in November. I struggle to keep curls in my hair but Kaleigh did a fantastic job and it lasted the whole night without dropping at all. Delighted with it and will definitely be back next time I’m in Galway! Sorry we forgot to take a photo with Joanna and post it to your page....
